DJI Matrice 5T is the compact enterprise drone for emergencies, inspections and surveys: 1K thermal camera (1280×1024), three 50 MP cameras with night vision, 3 km laser rangefinder, LiDAR and mmWave radar that detect obstacles down to the cables, IP55 protection and up to 59 minutes of flight.
Day and night, DJI Matrice 5T shows the details you need to intervene. The thermal camera has a native resolution of 1280×1024, four times the pixels of a 640×512 sensor, with a UHR mode at 2560×2048. The 1/0.98-inch wide camera delivers color images down to 0.01 lux in Night Scene mode and the telephoto lens reads license plates up to 400 m.
For the first time in a compact DJI enterprise drone, LiDAR, mmWave radar and omnidirectional vision work together. The LiDAR detects power lines up to 32 m even at night, the radar sees through fog, rain and dust, and the ADS-B and RID receivers flag nearby aircraft. IP55 protection and the -20 °C to 50 °C range complete the picture.
With the 215 Wh battery, DJI Matrice 5T flies for up to 59 minutes: a single takeoff covers more area, with fewer battery swaps and relocations. O4 Enterprise Enhanced transmission reaches 20 km with the CE standard (40 km with IC) and relay modes extend the range even further by using one or two drones as repeaters.
In emergencies every minute counts: DJI Matrice 5T powers on and takes off in 10 seconds and reaches the scene at a maximum speed of 23 m/s, to immediately stream live images to whoever coordinates the operation. It climbs at 10 m/s and descends at 8 m/s even with accessories mounted, covers up to 45 km and hovers for up to 54 minutes (figures with no wind).
Single-axis thrust is 98% higher than on the Matrice 4T (measured on a test bench). An algorithm detects a motor phase loss within a few milliseconds and, even in case of failure, the affected arm retains 50% of maximum thrust to stay stable and land safely. The included 14.2-inch propellers with bat-wing tips keep flight noise to 80 dB(A) (measured to GB 42590-2023).
IP55 protection allows operation in dust and rain, from -20 °C to 50 °C. The drone withstands 12 m/s wind at takeoff and landing and takes off at altitudes up to 7,000 m (4,500 m with accessories). With RTK, hovering accuracy reaches ±0.1 m and, where GNSS is weak, under bridges, in canyons or among skyscrapers, the fusion of visual and radar data maintains positioning.
The 3-axis gimbal of the DJI Matrice 5T combines a 1K thermal camera, three 50 MP cameras and a laser rangefinder, to move from the overview to the detail and the measurement.
The uncooled VOx thermal camera has a native resolution of 1280×1024 and a UHR mode at 2560×2048 at 30 fps, with NETD sensitivity ≤50 mK. It measures temperature by point or by area from -20 °C to 150 °C (High Gain) or from 0 °C to 550 °C (Low Gain), with 10 palettes and 32x digital zoom. Heat anomalies stay well defined even against complex backgrounds.
The 1/0.98-inch wide camera with f/1.8 aperture reaches ISO 1,600,000 in Night Scene mode and shows color images down to 0.01 lux. The medium camera with 3x optical zoom detects bolts and cracks at 10 m, while the telephoto lens with 11x optical zoom and hybrid zoom up to 176x reads license plates at 400 m; at night the NIR light provides 100 m of effective illumination.
The laser rangefinder measures up to 3,000 m and lets you target an object, trace lines and calculate areas, to mark assets or measure the perimeter of a wildfire. With dual-light fusion the thermal and visible streams overlap on the remote controller, with temperature monitoring and alerts directly on the visible image; the split screen shows up to 3 streams together.
A reliable link is what lets you work with peace of mind far from the takeoff point. DJI O4 Enterprise Enhanced transmission reaches 20 km with the CE standard (40 km with IC), with three live 1080p streams at 30 fps and 130 ms latency. Two integrated DJI Cellular Dongle 2 modules, with dual SIM, automatically switch to the best network. The relay modes use one or two drones as repeaters to widen the range or serve two aircraft together.
The DJI RC Plus 3 Enterprise remote controller has a 7.44-inch screen at 1920×1440 with 2,000 nit brightness, a built-in 6,933 mAh battery, 4T4R antennas, HDMI output, nano-SIM slot and IP54 protection. On screen the thermal and visible streams blend, with the ratio adjusted by a dial, and the split screen shows up to three views among wide, tele, thermal, map and Vision Assist.

The rotating LiDAR (360°×59°, range 110 m) detects power lines up to 32 m (21.6 mm cable) and detection works up to 21 m/s when the drone flies toward a transmission line. Six fisheye sensors, the mmWave radar and a downward ToF sensor complete the picture. In power line inspection the top-mounted LiDAR locks onto the conductors and the drone flies automatically along the line.
Without the speaker or spotlight mounted, the color fisheye sensors maintain visual positioning down to 0.5 lux and Vision Assist shows color images. In poorly lit cities vision and LiDAR work together, while in the total darkness of natural environments it is the LiDAR that detects obstacles in front of the aircraft. The ADS-B and RID receivers flag in real time crewed and uncrewed aircraft nearby.
For patrols and inspections at sea, DJI Matrice 5T takes off from a moving vessel and, at the end of the mission, recognizes the landing point pattern on the deck to return on board. DJI recommends using the function with the ship below 10 knots, wind below 5 m/s and a clear space of 3×3 m on the deck. The landing patterns can be downloaded from the DJI download page.
The 60 W DJI AL2 spotlight illuminates up to 1,500 m² at 100 m in flood mode, with spot mode and strobe light. The 35 W DJI AS2 speaker reaches 120 dB at 1 m, with an effective distance of 400 m, real-time voice, recorded messages and text-to-speech. Both have IP55 protection and are sold separately.
The 10,073 mAh (215.2 Wh) 6S Li-ion battery self-heats to charge at low temperatures and supports 200 cycles. The 515 W charging station charges three batteries in sequence, in standard mode to 100% or standby mode to 95%, and is compatible with the DJI Matrice 5 series. The case, similar in size to that of the Matrice 4 series, can be carried with one hand.
The onboard AI models recognize over 20 types of objects, such as vehicles, vessels and fires, analyzing the thermal and visible streams together; onboard processing also accepts third-party models. Just draw an area on the map: the system creates the patrol route, when it finds an object it hovers, takes photos, records video or transmits audio and, at the end of the flight, collects the results in a report.
DJI Pilot 2 automates the work with Cruise, FlyTo, Smart Track and POI and accepts custom plug-ins in the form of floating windows. Connected to DJI FlightHub 2 it allows remote control of the aircraft and gimbal, route planning and target search with text or images thanks to a multimodal LLM model. Data is protected by AES-256 transmission encryption and by local data mode.
With DJI Terra, DJI Matrice 5T achieves centimeter-level survey accuracy without GCPs and creates 2D thermal orthomosaics to inspect solar plants and power grids. In the field the remote controller generates local point clouds and 2.5D models during the flight, processing 200 photos in 8 minutes under test conditions, while Smart 3D Capture plans paths that closely follow the surface of the subject.
