DescriptionDJI Dock 4: the first DJI dock with battery swap, automatic 24/7 operations and takeoff in seconds

Battery swap in under 25 seconds

Dock 4 is the first DJI dock with automatic battery swap: from the lid being fully closed to the swap being completed takes less than 25 seconds, and the time between one landing and the next takeoff is under 45 seconds. Four compartments, up to three stored batteries and two parallel charging channels allow repeated missions, day and night.

Rugged in any environment

With IP56 protection, operation from -40 °C to 50 °C up to 5000 m altitude and compressor air conditioning, Dock 4 works where other systems stop. Wind, rain, temperature and humidity sensors, lightning protection and a backup battery of about 4.5 hours complete its operational reliability.

Matrice 5TD: vision, radar and artificial intelligence

The DJI Matrice 5TD drone integrates a wide-angle camera, two telephoto lenses and a thermal camera, millimeter-wave radar, rotating LiDAR and omnidirectional binocular vision. It reaches 21 m/s, offers up to 59 minutes of flight time and uses AI to recognize 17 types of objects.

Ready in seconds, always in position

Fastest first response

The drone takes off as soon as the lid opens and reaches the scene at 21 m/s, arriving before ground teams and immediately streaming live video. The maximum operating radius is 10 km and the maximum flight distance reaches 53 km, covering large areas from a single location.

Safe return even in strong wind

Dock 4 supports landings in winds up to 12 m/s and integrates an anemometer, rain sensor and temperature sensors. RTK positioning provided by the O4 Ground Station enables centimeter-level landing precision even in difficult conditions, with an aircraft wind resistance of 12 m/s.

Parachute safety system

The DJI AP1 parachute is available as an option on the Matrice 5TD, with manual or automatic deployment, stabilized descent below 6 m/s and a minimum effective deployment altitude of 35 m. An independent FTS link and automatic status checks increase operational safety.

Flexible installation and deployment at complex sites

Dock 4 can be installed at fixed locations or on a vehicle and is managed by the DJI O4 Ground Station, which makes even the most difficult sites accessible.

The ground station (170×170×352 mm, 2.68 kg, IP67) integrates a multi-constellation GNSS receiver, OcuSync 4 Pro video transmission with 8 directional antennas and two 4G antennas. It connects to the dock via PoE Ethernet with cable up to 80 m, and can also operate from -40 °C to 55 °C.

The dock connects to the network via Ethernet or 4G with the DJI Cellular Dongle 2, while the aircraft has an integrated dual 4G module for backup transmission. Latency from the aircraft to the FlightHub 2 cloud platform is about 160 milliseconds.

Dock 4 weighs 66 kg (without batteries and aircraft) and measures 639×640×836 mm with the lid closed. It runs on 100-240 V AC with a maximum power of 2000 W, and in case of a blackout the backup battery provides about 4.5 hours of sequential power across three batteries.

Integrated high-performance multi-sensor system

Sees what matters, day and night

Three cameras and a thermal camera, for every distance

Inspecting a site takes details both near and far. The Matrice 5TD carries three 50 MP RGB cameras: a wide-angle camera with a 1/0.98-inch sensor, a medium telephoto with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and a telephoto with a 1/1.5-inch sensor, with hybrid zoom up to 176x and 4K video at 30 fps. When light is scarce, the 1280×1024 thermal camera comes into play, reaching 2560×2048 in UHR mode and able to fuse the visible image with the thermal one.

Laser rangefinder, light and voice in the field

Besides seeing, the drone can measure, illuminate and speak. The laser rangefinder measures distances up to 3000 m, while the NIR auxiliary light and the spotlight with projector (up to 48 W) illuminate the scene at night. The AS2D speaker, with an effective range of up to 400 m, lets you give instructions to people on the ground: real-time messages, recorded ones or text-to-speech in seven languages.

Precision
and efficiency

Dock 4 combines automatic battery swap, fast 27-minute charging, weather sensors and redundant safety systems in a single platform. The result is a continuous operational workflow, with no on-site staff, suited to inspection, security and emergency response.

Data acquisition and operational features

After landing the aircraft automatically offloads photos and videos to the dock via high-speed Wi-Fi at 80 MB/s, versus 20 MB/s over O4 Enterprise transmission. Data is available in the cloud right away, and the drone can take off for the next mission.

The three RGB cameras allow inspection of infrastructure, forests and rural areas with resolution up to 8192×6144 and hybrid zoom up to 176x. The 252 mm equivalent telephoto lens lets you observe details from a long distance, for precise and continuous daytime monitoring.

In urban areas, a dock installed on a building or fixed site ensures immediate takeoffs for traffic control, events and emergency response. The spotlight and AS2D speaker support communication with people on the ground, while the forward millimeter-wave radar also detects thin cables, up to 40 m for a 12 mm cable.

With Night Scene mode (ISO up to 1,638,400), the thermal camera and the projector, the Matrice 5TD observes vehicles and people even in low light. The live view at 1080p 30 fps gives the operator an immediate view of the scene.

With DJI FlightHub 2 you manage missions remotely and share the live view. AI recognition of 17 object types speeds up decisions, from routine inspection to emergencies.

Data processing and software ecosystem

DJI FlightHub 2 for remote management

The FlightHub 2 cloud platform (also available On-Premises and with FlightHub Sync) lets you control the dock and aircraft remotely and monitor system status through HMS (Health Management System).

DJI Enterprise App

The DJI Enterprise app handles on-site setup, dock testing, remote operations and live view. It lets you call the drone with one tap and quickly check that the system is ready before every mission.

Open ecosystem: ESDK 2.0 and DJI Cloud API

Thanks to ESDK 2.0 and the DJI Cloud API the system integrates with third-party platforms. The O4 Ground Station also supports ONVIF and GB/T 28181 cameras with up to 4 simultaneous H.264 1080p video streams.
